Monsoons Of Kuttanaad

Every week for the past five years, I have traveled down through the rice bowl of Kerala. Kuttanaad as it is locally known has never in those five years even for once failed to amaze me by its exotic beauty. The regions around it though similar cannot parallel it. During the monsoons the area spills over literally and its beauty..? Well, it just goes overboard.
Here, I have tried to capture in a few frames most of it though I must admit it was more a failure. But what I have managed to capture is the just-out-the-bath-serenity look that the place adorns during the monsoons.

"If you gave me several million years, there would be nothing
that did not grow in beauty if it were surrounded by water."
Jan Erik Vold, What All The World Knows

“The only noise now was the rain, pattering softly with the magnificent indifference of nature for the tangled passions of  humans.”
―
Sherwood Smith

Passions are likened best to floods and streams:
The shallow murmur, but the deep are dumb.

“They both listened silently to the water, which to them was not just water, but the voice of life, the voice of Being, the voice of perpetual Becoming."

" The sky and the strong wind have moved the spirit inside me till I am carried away trembling with joy."

             "You could not step twice into the same rivers;
for other waters are ever flowing on to you."

-  Heraclitus of Ephesus

“It is life, I think, to watch the water. A man can learn so many things.”
 Nicholas Sparks

"If there is magic on the planet, it is contained in the water."

A lake carries you into recesses of feeling otherwise impenetrable."

"Everywhere water is a thing of beauty gleaming in the dewdrop,
singing in the summer rain."

-  John Ballantine Gough

"Even on cloudy days the sun waits to break through."  Daniel

Summers in Kuttanaad, the Backwaters of God's own country

In my last post on Kuttanaad I had mentioned about the spellbinding beauty of the backwaters during the monsoons. The waters have receded, but I found that summers too are magnificent in this God's own land. Here are a few clicks I happened to take on one of my journeys through the place.

I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have loved taking them.

We listen and breezes from a whole other world begin to whisper.”

Interior Kuttanad, A scenic Kaleidoscope

Travelling still interior into Kuttanad one encounters just mesmerism. From the water flooded landscape to untended grasslands, from the broken down boat sheds to far way cattle sheds... it is all a well deserved get away to find peace with your inner self. And that's just what I did.
Then of course. I did take you along with me.
